Hey all - there's been a bunch going on behind the scenes, and it's time for an update.
The summary:
- Quality issues
- Moving house/Down-sizing
- Culpeper's Herbal
- Rebranding
Longer story:
I've been having a string of increasing quality issues with my botanicals - first from my local supplier, and now from my other major supplier. Which... sucks, quite honestly.
I'm also going to be moving house somewhere in the next 3-4 months, and we'll be moving to a smaller apartment, which means we've also got some down-sizing going on, and there's going to be some storage issues to deal with after.
Between the two of these...
I've made the difficult decision not to restock my herbs until after I've moved.
Once I've settled (and hopefully had the chance to figure out a solution to the supply issue) I'll look at re-stocking the store to its full glory. I'm hoping this would be around September, if not before, but I'll definitely keep you updated!
On top of that...
I've also been busy working on my upcoming edition of Culpeper's Herbal.
Which is a big project. I've got 1,000 pages to edit, and a second volume to design. I've promised it would be out this year, and I'm juggling it with my primary business and aforementioned house move (and life as a multiply-disabled human with limited capacity). But I'm determined to make good on my promise!
And Nyx Apothecary is long overdue for a rebrand!
Nyx Apothecary was created as a sibling brand to my other business at the time, Nyx Photography. It was a quick-and-dirty branding project to get up-and-running. It's sibling has since had a major rebrand (into Studio Nyx), and Nyx Apothecary is due for some love on the design-side, as well.
So you'll see some stock levels dropping over the next few months, but I'm not going anywhere!
