Rosemary Smoke Wand

While smoke cleansing is found in various forms in cultures throughout the world, this particular form, tied into a smoke wand, is inspired by the smudge sticks made by various North American Indigenous cultures for their smudging rituals.

Rosemary is a spectacular cleansing herb, and one of my personal favourites for smoke cleansing spaces. These handmade smoke wands make the exercise much easier compared to the more common European method of burning herbs on charcoal using a censer (and much more convenient than dragging an entire shrub (or large branches thereof) through the house, as is the case in the Scottish practice of Saining.
